Time for the curse
Well this is no friend of mine - just a curse. I saw some posts from a week or so ago about weight gain and bloating at that time. Well, I've never been regular, and this is my first time since surgery. Sometimes I get cramps and sometimes not - this time I got em, and can't take anything that works - oh well. I always get diarreah before hand, so I knew it was coming when I didn't need to use stool softener late last week (one good thing). The other good thing is that even though it came today, I still showed a 1.5 lb loss. That amazed me. I'm hoping I don't get the bloat, and it usually comes early on, so maybe I'm safe. I don't think I will ever be able to figure my system out. It's been screwy since I was a kid, and remains so. I have Polycystic Ovarian Disease, and I don't know if this surgery will do anything to help that, but time will tell.
Well, enough of my meandering mind - gotta put the kid to bed.
G'nite all!

Fellow "cyster" here. Your PCOS will definitely benefit from this surgery. And your cycles are bound to get more regular. I can't believe how regular mine are!
As for weight loss, I find that whether I'm doing Atkins or with this surgery, I always lose right after I get my period. I just don't retain as much water anymore, and then I just suddenly lose a few pounds around my period. Oddly enough, in a freakish sort of way it makes me look forward to my period!!!

I got awful cramps this last time so I called my surgeon. I had always taken Aleve before and he said as long as I take it for a SHORT period of time (2-4 days) that I can continue to use Aleve periodically for muscle cramps related to my period.
I would only do this if your surgeon says its okay. It was a godsend for me!
