Has anyone tried Chinese food since surgery? My hubby wanted Chinese the other day and I told him I didn't think I could have it. I felt so bad...he loves that Chinese place. I would love some help on this topic so I could give it a try for take-out. Thanks, Christina -31

I have had shrimp fried rice and handled it really well. Plus shrimp has a lot of protein!! jus****ch eating the rice, I kinda picked around it and ate the shrimp, peas, and onions, extra soy sauce!! ~Nicole

Be very careful of anything that is "sweet and sour" or Teriaki (Japanese, I know, but still.) I have had a craving for egg rolls since surgery, but I am going to wait a bit. Good luck! (Praying for Rob) Lee 266/228/137

Oops, I meant to say stay away from them because they have too much sugar. Duh. Sorry.

I have been craving Chinese too! But like a lot of other people, I am afraid to try it. Just about everyone I have know that has had this surgery didn't do well with it. I hoping that after a while I'll get brave and at least try some hot and sour soup. take care.

You could also have some egg drop soup if you like it. Then maybe chicken with veggies? Sounds good.....

I've had chinese food. When I did, I ate the insides of 2 chicken fingers and the insides of a crab rangoon. It was like heaven. I had no problems with it at all. Kelley

I've had Chinese several times since surgery. My staples have been egg drop soup, Tofu mushroom soup, chicken and vegetables and Schezchuan tofu. I don't eat rice or egg rolls. Come to think of it, I'll try Mou Shou Pork without the pancakes next time I go. Connie

I have only vomited twice since surgery. Once on soft scrambled eggs and the other on steamed chicken and veggies from the chinese place. maybe I can't handle chicken yet. I really can't eat much.

Hi Christina... We have a restraunt in town that caters to Weigh****chers clients. They will make any stir fry without oil and instead cook the food in chicken broth. I have had no issues with those foods. Breaded items and oil cooked foods kill me though. If you go, maybe you can just ask if they can stir fry in chicken broth instead of oil. You never know until you try! Lissa
