Any around March 1 out there?
Hi everyone. I was March 1st, open RNY-revision with gallbladder removed. I feel great. It is hard to know what weight to tell you. My doctor seems to be counting from my first office visit so in that case I have lost 52 pounds since Dec. 22nd, although I didn't get serious about my preop weight loss until middle of Jan.
Anyway here is the way it looks.
414 - Dec 22nd office visit.
388 - the morning of surgery March 1st
396* (when I left the hospital) holding fluids. March 7th
and 362 today April 23rd.

All-in-all I am happy. I stopped losing for a long time too--just couldn't figure it out. I felt like my body was in stasis. Then one day I declared war on my scales and switched to low-carb and high protein. My calories kept creeping up to 1200 to 1500. I began losing again..., but not fast as I would have liked. SOOO I declared war again and then did very low carbs--1 to 15 a day and high protein and my calories are 1200 or less. This seems to be working for me. I have dropped 4 pounds this week alone. Also I have been getting outside much more and walking much more. Even did some gardening/yard work, which I think really helped this week. So will try and keep that up.
I am determined this is going to work for me--one pound at a time. What I finally did was just look at 10 pounds at a time. I am hoping to kick this last 2 pounds (362) over the weekend and start working on a new 10 pounds next week! Maybe over time I will wake up and it will just be gone. It seems to help to focus on just those 10 pounds and not think about what I have lost or how far I have to go... what about you guys? What are your tricks?
I had surgery Mar. 2. Since I was 265 going into surgery, my weight loss has been 35 for 230 right now. So, since I started lower down the scale, you can see my loss is proportional to yours. Given where I started, I don't get quite the numbers that some folks do. My doctor is pleased with my loss and feels the weight is coming off about right. Of course, I would like it all off right now -- I've been playing with this particular 40 pounds for about a decade, hard to get toooo excited until I get below that. So happy to hear you feel great. I had some complications and am now starting to feel pretty good -- and even 35 pounds DOES make a difference in how I get around, that's for sure. I'm focusing on getting into my exercise program right now, as I'm afraid the loss will stop if I can't get more active. When I was feeling too sick, it was just too hard to do.
