OK I'm back up two lbs after a week stuck at 210 (went down to 209 and now up 211). I'm drinking much more finally getting in my liquids (mostly Crystal Light). I'm eating less than 800 calories a day so it amazes me I'm not loosing???? Here is what I had yesterday: Breakfast: 1/2 whole wheat pita with hummus (Garbanzo beans with feta) Lunch: 1/4 tomato, 1 heart of palm, 2-3 oz gouda, homemade dressing (olive oil and vinegar) Dinner: 3 oz chicken, green beans, 3 tbls potato Snack: 1/4 cup popcorn Please share your daily diet so I can compare. I could not eat for the first 30 days so I'm wondering if my metabolism is messed up so bad I'll never get past this plateau. Thanks, Robin 247/211/130

Robin, I think this is pretty normal and am sure it'll drop again. You've had a 36 pound loss and that's tremendous. Have you tried tracking your food on fitday.com? Pita, hummus, potato and popcorn are all loaded with carbs. I made some assumptions on amounts for the hummus and green beans and figured your totals for the day. Calories 675 Fat 38 Carbs 52 Protein 36 When I get stuck, I cut way back on carbs and up the protein. This seems to help. My most successful weeks are the weeks that I keep my carbs to under 30 a day and my protein over 60. Hope I wasn't presumptuous in analyzing this. I was just curious about what the totals were and thought I'd share them with you. Hang in there. Connie

Thanks Connie. That helps. I'll try uping the protein.

Yes that is what I do too. I call it my "no-carb days." They are usually around 10 to 15 carbs usually veggies (I never eat bread, pasta, donuts, flour at all since surgery anyway). But when I do this, my body does something, cause I start dropping pounds and inches. Of course, I am only 7 weeks, so still finding what works best. Try some different things. My daughter has lost 60 pounds with Atkins (not heavy enough to have surgery).

Robin, I agree with everyone else. Sounds like too many carbs. Every doc is different but mine wants his patients to get twice as many grams of protein a day as they do carbs. Not a problem for me as I dump on carbs as easily as I dump on sugar, so I really have to WATCH my carb intake. Many days I get 3 times as much protein as I do carbs. I've currently stalled at -39 pounds but all three of my docs said I would since I had knee surgery this past Wednesday. Hope the group consensus helps!! Va

Yesterday...Can I remember? Lets see, for breakfast I had about 4 bites of a hot dog, then I had 2 strawberries later on, for lunch I ate 1/4 of an Atkins advantage bar, later for a snack I had about 15 peanuts (not in the shell) then for dinner I had a little broccoli salad(like 2 bites), 4 bites of a cheeseburger. When I say bites, I mean very small cubed pieces. I had mayo and tomato on the burger. No bread of course. I also ate 2 bites of corn on the cob with a little butter and 2 bites of german potato salad. We were at a cook-out. I ate this very slowly and this was probably the most I have ever eaten at one time. Later that evening I had a strawberry protein drink smoothie. 4 oz. Nicole
