Have you seen a different wls than
that's better! thanx!
i have not followed up directly with my surgeon since 18 mos out- 1st cuz he left the clinic and moved back to new jersey-2nd- it's a drive! but i did get my bloodwork done and am following with my pcpc as well.....now- speaking of drs that i dislike- i absolutely abhor my pulmonologist- and he is in control of my cpap! i have never disliked any dr so much as i do him.........
HI Sabrina
As long as you are keeping up on your bloodwork & seeing someone to make sure all is o.k. that is just fine. It does
not have to be your original surgeon. The only thing you have to be careful of is if your pcp is still learning about wls
patients. We have toeducate them as to what works for us &
sometimes they don't listen very well. I am not sure this will
help. But don't fret too much about not seeing you original
surgeon.

Hi Sabrina,
Great question. I haven't seen my wls surgeon since I was 6 months out. My insurance carrier at work changed and she didn't accept my new insurance. I thought this was kind of strange since she said that what they charged my insurance covered all of my follow-up appointments.
In any case, my pcp has done a great job with follow-up and really educated himself about wls. I'm impressed with him. I think most weight loss surgeons stop following up with their patients after a year anyway. At least mine said she did.
Hang around and post more often.
