Infections?

All... Just wondering if anyone's noticed that they're having problems with 'normal' things healing slower/getting infected easily post-op. I had something on my forearm...maybe an ingrown hair, or a teeny splinter or something...and it went into a TEENY zit-like thing, like no big deal. That was two days ago. This morning, it looked like an 'impetigo' mark or something...it was obvious it was getting bigger. I just looked down on it, and it's gotten HUGE, it's now 'bout the size of a dime, no "center" spot in it, but it's red and warm, and under the skin there's a big knot. I realize that I've lost about an inch on that part of my forearm, and there's no 'fat' there to hide the inflammation in anymore, but this has me freaked out. It's HUGE now under the skin, I don't know how it went this ballistic! It was NOTHING a couple of days ago. I'm going to my PCP tomorrow 'cuz it's just NOT looking right. I've been rubbing Neosporin on it since it started, and pre-op, this wouldn't have gotten past the teeny initial stage. Is anyone having any wierd problems like this? I'm trying to think of how this could have gotten this bad so quickly, but am at a loss. I HAVE been gardening a LOT, but I've kept it covered with a bandaid and neosporin - neosporin was a wound cure-all for me pre-op. Any suggestions? Queenie, could it be that maybe because of our lack of nutrients we don't heal as quick? I dunno but I hope it feels better soon. Have you rubbed alcohol on it? Bethany
