Glad you did this, Kathy! I love answering the questions and I love to see how other people answer them! Thanks!
1. Getting into my "skinny" jeans! Woo Hoo! (and incidentally, they are getting bigger by the day!!)
2. Hanging out at the pool and not hanging out of my bathing suit!
3. I would buy plants and landscape my backyard - make it into an inexpensive haven.
4. My bedroom/bathroom. My house is only 2 years old, but I would have someone come in and make my bedroom my "cave" and decorate it with lots of fabrics, soft, muted colors, etc. I'd also have my bathroom done up to look cool - like a candle chandalier over the jacuzzi tub, maybe a small tv mounted in the corner so I can relax in the tub and not miss "Must See TV!".
5. That
has become a once a week event. Gross!!
AND - that I SO deserve to be happy in my own skin. ;o)

1.)What has been your first "milestone" after WL****ting the 50 lb loss and fitting into my jeans again.
2.)What are you looking forward to most this summer? Hmm..probably my trip to Alabamee for my birfday
3.) If you were given 1000.00 dollars and only 12 hours to spend it, what would you buy? 12 HOURS?? WHO NEEDS THAT??? Clothes for me and my niece...something my husbnad has always wanted..I dunno what it is yet but sometin he wants
4.)If you could have one room redecorated to celebrate your WLS, which room would it be and what would you have done? My living room.... I would buy a nice comfy sectional like my mom has...it is the best
5.) What has been your biggest discovery as a post-op you wish you would have been aware of before? Probably same as Betty... I shouldn't have been so scared.
Great Questions Kathy
Bethany
'Bout TIME you got back to your duties...sheesh...
1) 1st milestone was my 4-week post-op labs. They showed that I was no longer 'stroke bait', that my triglycerides dropped from 733 originally to 179 and the rest of my cholesterols were "normal" now. This happened in only 4 weeks - the 6 months of VILE meds I'd been on pre-op to lower them from their "dangerous" levels had done NOTHING, but only 4 weeks after my WLS, they were all NORMAL!!
2) I'm most looking forward to my 4th of July Annual BBQ this year 'cuz I'm having some of the MOST precious people in my life over this year that I didn't even know last year. I AM SO EXCITED!
(And I'm NOT cleaning my house, either!
)
3) I'd buy all the necessary materials to lay my stone-paved skirting/patio that I want around my deck, then blow the rest on flowers and shrubs for my gardens...
4) I'd do the renovations I now know I'm going to do to my master bathroom next year (gotta pay for my WLS this year). I've spent enough time in there since my WLS that I finally know what I'm going to do with it, down to the wallpaper/border, tile, moldings and how I'm going to re-design my bathtub/shower (fully enclosed in plexiglass so the room won't be so 'closed in'). It only took me 5 years and a WLS to finally figure out what to do with that AWFUL room!
5) Nothing really. I walked into this eyes wide open and pretty much knew what to expect. It's all fallen in to place as I thought it would - I've had no real surprises except the speed that my endocrine problems corrected themselves!!
Kimmer
Queen of the Niners, Instigator to All Marchers, High Priestess of Giggles

I'm like Kimmer. My first milestone was to walk out of the hospital never again to take medications for Type II diabetes. My blood sugars have been normal ever since.
Not working. This will be the first summer since I was a teenager that I didn't work. I can't wait to play in the sun with my kids and take them to places.
I'd get the AC in my car fixed and then if there was money left over, I would buy my kids their piggies to show in the fall.
My Living Room...I spend so much time in here now that I'm on the computer all the time. I'd hire my cousin who is an interior decorator and let her guide me. I'd like to see something rustic cottage look with folk art. Definately red walls (at least one) and a leather couch. I'd rip out all the fake rock that is on one wall and rebuild the TV cabinate into an armior....Then I'd put in wood floors and tile under the woodburing stove with a tile backsplash.
I wish I'd been prepared for the lack of energy that I got about 2 weeks out. This was remedied by a shot of B12. Now I know that as I start feeling this way again, I need another shot....I see doc next week and hope they give me one then..
Thanks for the questions Kathy. I really like this game.
