bird woman & halloween

I've gone over the edge... about 3 weeks ago I had gotten my first bird. An adorable ****ateil. She is so sweet! I enjoy her antics. Watching her play is a riot. She is intelligent too. So far I've taught her the wolf whistle and this week she's picked up "pretty bird". I had gotten her at a customer who hand feeds the babies so they are very tame. I have a problem...if I hold one of these adorable little birds I have to bring it home! Do you see where this is leading? Yes. I bought another bird. This time it is a Senegal parrot. Oh just what I needed another animal! She's not much bigger than the ****ateil but because it takes her longer to mature she is much more of a baby. She is eating on her own I do not have to feed her and has taken her first flight. Her wings are clipped now. If I enjoyed the antics of the ****ateil, which I still do very much, well this one is a show all of her own. The two cages are next to each other kind of like a large screen tv! The parrot is a brilliange emerald green with orange on her legs and some of her tummy. What a beautiful bird she is. She thinks I am her mommy which is just what I love! All my kids grew up so my little pets are now the ones who get spoiled. This one is smarter than the ****ateil because she knows she can't fly, Tweety the ****ateil still thinks she can. Maybe she is just more determined? Yes thats it! But Baby the parrot is adorable. Loves to sit right on my shoulder. I should have dressed up like a pirate for halloween! The kids who came to my door enjoyed her. Which brings me to my next subject! Halloween and candy! I had tons of candy to give out. Not a one did I eat and its been at my house for 4 weeks. It sat. I'm much happier with the other choicees I make. Didn't even crave it. I hope this lasts forever because candy and sweets were my first choices back during BS (before surgery). What I noticed was that when the little ones would come to the door I would show them the very large bowl and say go ahead you pick what you would like. When they would only takeone I'd say you can have more please help yourself. I don't get that many children only about 20 and had plenty theres still plenty left whcih will come into work for my co workers to enjoy but the odd thing was I thought later about how years ago I would have handed out a piece to each kid and give them the ones I didn't like!!!!! hahaha I would save the stuff I liked to snack on later and let me tell you I'd finish that bowl that night! Surgery has made me gracious! Add that to our list of improvements! I can't blame the bird fetis on surgery. Thats always been a problem me and animals. Do they have a surgery for that???

Just be careful with that parrot when it grows up could bite & they hurt. Maybe not since you are spoiling it already but, You never know. just be cautious!! My mom had ****ateils for a long time & her would talk & do the whistle. They are fun!! Enjoy Marilyn, the Bearlady
