Va Knee Update
Hey folks,
I came home about 3:00 pm and thought I was wide awake. But everytime I got still I'd doze off, and I'm not a dozer. So about 5:00 I finally gave up and went to bed.
Thus the tardiness of this post.
The doc cleaned out my knee. Said I had a torn MCL and it would have to be repaired open knee. I was too groggy to ask intelligent questions then, but I wonder if I'm going to have the knee replaced anyway would am I still gonna need my MCL post op????
I'm doing fine, I came home with a prescription for Percacet but haven't needed a single one. It hurts no worse now than it did pre-op. He told me if I felt like walking on it to get after it. So since I've been home - I'm sans my crutches.
I'll see him tomorrow, then I can ask coherent questions...
Thanks for your prayers!! I know that's why it has gone so smoothly!!

I'm glad to hear it went well. You may not be taking pain meds, but it looks like you are slurring your typing a bit!
Sounds like you have some good questions to ask tomorrow, but hopefully they did enough repair to get you by for a while before they do anything more.
Give us an update tomorrow, OK?
Love ya,
Joy

Glad you're home safe and sound... take it easy and feel better real soon. We'll keep praying for ya!!!
Welcome home, but what a drag with all the repair talk going on for you. Sometimes I feel like a car, don't you? I wish they could just lube me and have done with it. MCL not following the acronym (sometimes I really shut down when they talk to me about this stuff, so I'm not as up on the terms as someone with my level of injury is). If it's torn cartilege, I wonder if it could get you out of pain enough to NOT have the knee replacement. That would be pretty jolly. I'll think encouraging thoughts until you hear more.
