weight loss issues
Hello, Marchers,
I'm having a little problem with one of my close friends about me losing weight. Now, maybe it's just me trippin or something, but please guys correct me if I am. Well I have been losing weight since Jan 04, when I was required to lose 10% of my weight before surgery and I did, so as of today I lost 30lbs before surgery and 26lbs after. My problem with her is she keeps commenting on me losing weight, like do you think you are going to look right if you face gets any smaller and every chance she gets she telling someone have you seen Dondi, she is losing weight. And then comes back and tell me the negative things they say. Please help me marchers.............................
I think you have two choices...either address the issue with her and tell her that her support is important to your confidence and feelings towards her and that her actions thus far seem to be negative in nature, or completely distance yourself from her.
I think it is inevitable that there will be people in all of our lives that are scared, nervous, doubtful, and just overall negative about the changes we are making. It scares them. It shakes up their world. Perhaps the relationship has been based on food, or an imagined "I'm better because..." kind of attitude from their part. Who knows. But what you do know is that it is not good for you to have saboteurs in your life.
I wish you the best -- this is a tough one to deal with!

Yes!! I most deffinitely agree...I have not returned to work yet but I do hear that alot of people are talking... Blahh blahh a co-worker close friend of mine called and told me I said hey that's fine because I'm improving my self and it is expected that the people that are sitting on their behinds doing nothing have nothing better to do than to hate on me... But like I told her... They can talk all the want they can say what they say... I'm doing this for me, and as long I'm ok with God and myself...Everyones negative opinions count for nothing...
