Has anyone had trouble with nausea? Everytime I eat it comes back up. I had wls March 9th and have lost 30lbs.

My problem hasn't been so much the nausea but the air bubble thing. That's been making most of my foods come up for three days. I figure as long as I take an extra vitamin or two things should be fine because I hear that this particular problem levels out. Gayle

I HAVE HAD NAUSEA FROM DAY ONE, SOMETIMES ITS SO BAD I CAN'T EVEN TAKE MY VITAMINS OR GET MY PROTEIN DRINKS IN BECAUSE THEY COME RIGHT BACK UP. I AM A LITTLE OVER 5 WKS OUT NOW AND IT IS GETTING A LITTLE BETTER. I KNOW A LOT OF DR. SAY ITS A NO NO BUT I FINALLY ATE A SALTINE CRACKER AND IT REALLY SETTLED MY STOMACH AND FOR A FEW DAYS ALL I COULD KEEP DOWN WAS ICE CHIPS AND BREYERS NO SUGAR ADDED VANILLA ICE CREAM. I DIDN'T EAT BUT A FEW SPOONFULLS AT A TIME BUT IT REALLY HELPED ME GET THROUGH THE ROUGH TIMES.

i had the same thing... twice. both times i had to go in and get scoped. my opening had closed almost completely up - the 2nd time it was so bad that even my saliva was backing up in my pouch and causing me to vomit. are you able to keep down liquids? you should call your dr. and get it checked out. my surgery was the 9th, too.

I was thinking what Kym said. If you are unable to keep anything down (food or fluids), you need to insist on being checked for a stricture. Strictures can occur during this healing phase if the opening gets plugged up with scar tissue. You will get dehydrated and malnourished if this is what is happening. Let us know... Joy

I had my WLS 3/15, and i can hold down liquids, and jello and pudding (all sugar free) with no problem. Most meats come up really fast for me. I bought protein powder to add to pudding to help get the protein in.

When I had nausea it was a virus. They put me on dramaine before eating and then back on liquids for 2 days. As long as you can keep the liquids down and do not get dehydrated you are ok. Otherwise, please go get checked or call your doctor.

Oh YEAH! Even water makes me sick sometimes! I mix sugarfree koolaid (tropical punch)w/my protein drink(GNC 100% whey fruit punch) and It gets me protein w/o making me sick and blaoted feelin.... I haven't been able to eat today either I tried an over easy egg w/wheat bread and i think it clogged me up for a sec. My nut. said I could have bread but I think I'm going to keep holding off... Anyway good luck!! and your not alone!
