Hair
I've been trying to get in my protein and have also been taking GNC Hair, Skin, and Nails vitamins to try to head off the hair loss that tends to happen 2-4 months post op. I started this about 30 days preop.
The strangest thing is that my hair right now is thicker and growing faster than I have ever seen it. It's almost like having someone else's hair! My hair is normally very fine and limp (my hairdresser calls it cat hair), so it takes a lot to make this kind of difference! I usually keep it pretty short to keep it from gluing itself to my head, but now I'm letting it grow because it has some body.
I wondered if anyone else is seeing this?

I've been struggling to get protein in for the 1st 3 weeks, but I'm doing much better now. I found an unflavored protein powder and I think that will help tremendously.
As for my hair, for about 5 months I've been taking Biotin and it has really helped me with my hair. It seemed I was losing hair (I think maybe due to the meds I was on). After I started taking Biotin, I noticed my hair starting to grow back in. My Dr recommends it also.
I'm just hoping the 1st 3 wks of not getting enough protein wont make me lose too much hair.
