Rob report
I spoke to Kat. There is good and bad news...
Good: He had fluid around his lungs, but NOT pneumonia. The large abcess is shrinking due to the drain and the antibiotics.
Bad: He has a new abcess starting.
They drained off a pint of fluid around his lungs and put in a drain there. They were adding a drain at the site of the new abcess. They were going to insert a feeding tube to give him some nourishment since he is too sedated to eat and he needs the strength.
It was a lot for him to go through today, but hopefully these actions will help him turn the situation around. His temperature is still going up and down.
They really appreciate the prayers and the support from all of you. (I do too!)

I'm so glad that it's not pnuemonia. Absesses are difficult enough, but usually easier to take care of. Once they get everything drained, the fever should start to level out. My sister had her colon removed in December and had absesses, once the drains were in and the antibiotics kicked in, she did great. I'll continue to pray for Rob.

Joy - again, thank you for keeping us posted! That boy is going to have to get better. It's been 3 weeks already and I think it's time he comes home and gives us his blow by blow accounts of this experience himself. Prayers continuing and praise going up for the good part of that news that it's not pneumonia!!!
