Saw the Dr. today and I'm down 78 pounds since my surgery. I'm pleased with the loss. I have 126 more to go, but this is a great start. Wishing you all the best as well.

Thanks for all the comments. I have to say, I was amazed. I had to go see my endrocronologist about my thyroid yesterday morning. They had me jump on the scale,(something I don't dread like I used to) and I was shocked. The nurse wrote down the number and then looked at my chart, she said this can't be right. I told her I had surgery, and she got a big smile on her face. By the way, my overactive thyroid is now even more normal then before surgery. Anyway, knowing that I could post a good number at my surgery Dr.'s office, I removed my keys, cell phone, and wallet when I got on the scale. The nurse said," Ken, that is 54 pounds since your last visit, and that is 78 since surgery, and 102 since we first saw you." As far as what I'm eating and calories, alls I can say is that I pay more attention to carbs and proteins then I do calories. I usually have some eggs for breakfast, yogurt for a snack, a meat of some sort for lunch, a protein bar for snack, a meat and veggie for dinner, and a high protein snack at late evening. I'm not tolerating chicken or turkey well, so I have been eating a lot of fish and shrimp. I may BBQ six large shrimp at dinner, at three and have the others for lunch the next day. I have been good about not having bread or too many other complex carbs and I have avoided grazing or snacking on things we shouldn't eat. I usually get 60 plus grams of protein a day, I drink my 64 oz of water, and I have been riding my bike for a workout. I'm going to start lifting weights again now that I have been cleared to life more then 20 pounds. I have over 200 pounds to lose, and men lose more quickly then women. If you go over to the main board, you will find out that most of those who were successful at this surgery were the ones who got their protein in, drank water, avoided sugar and carbs, and worked out. I wish you all the best, I just hope I don't hit a big ole plateau real soon.

I try various bars, Carb Solutions is a brand I do well with. I switch up to keep the taste something new. I just try to have bars that are high in protein and low in carbs.
