Dr's can't find out whats wrong!?

I just had a thought - maybe you can go to the library here and find some info.
To be helpful for your search the correct spellings are: pleural effusion, pancreatitis, and remnant sack.
Maybe if you do a search you can learn something helpful or email someone who has had the same problems and gotten over them.
Good luck.

Alicia,
I didn't have the pancreatitis but I had the rest of it, as well as a partially collapsed lung.
Did they drain your pleural effusion? They did mine, drew off about 3 cups of fluid, other wise I'm sure I'd still be sick and in horrible pain. They gave me Toradol twice a day in my IV at first then started giving it to me once a day in my hip. After they released me from the Hospital, I went to my PCP's office every day for three days for a Toradol shot, for pain control.
If you are still weezing and having pain at your waist line on the left side you need to see a pulminologist (lung specialist) ASAP. Your effusion very well may need to be drained. Not a pleasant experience but you will breathe much better afterward.
It's time for a Specialist, stick to your guns!

Hi Alicia,
Did you have lap surgery? did you have your gallbladder removed?
I had similar pain after my gallbladder operation and the doctors could not find the problem... I finally went to another doctor who discovered that I had a bile duct leak and fluid was pouring into my abdomen, which was crushing my lungs and stomach, I got pancreatitus and jondus of the liver... I nearly died from the illnesses and infection....
I'm not trying to scare you, but PLEASE go to a gastroenterologist soon... this could be what you're experiencing.
Keep us posted on your health, and I will keep you in my prayers.
Alicia, hi.. I am sorry about your problems. I was recently in the hospital for a week due to pancreatitis as well. They did an MRI, CT Scan, ultra sound, x-rays, EVERYTHING and nothing explained why in the world I had it because I am not a drinker.
From what I can understand ...sometimes when we have surgery they sometimes bump things around in there and that can cause infection. However, that is not medical information. The docs are still unsure. Another thing that can cause it is gall stones. They considered gall stones with me however I had already had my gall bladder removed 2 yrs ago. They said sometimes a few stones can be left and that can flare up your pancreas. What were your enzyme levels up to?? I know the highest they should be is 300 and mine reached 900!!
If you do not feel better soon or the pain is not getting better make sure to talk to your doc again. They may have to put a camera in you and look (you are in a twilight sleep at the time so you will not notice it) please be careful and you are in my prayers
