What is that?

hey Everyone, I have a question. When I eat I chew, chew, chew and after I swallow sometimes I feel a blockage a half inch below the center of my breast. What is that?

Hi Lady C, I mentioned that very condition at my support group meeting on Saturday and one of the more long term post ops said it's an 'air pocket'. I am not sure, I just know it's dang uncomfortable and once I get it I can't eat any more. It does go away tho, eventually. Hugs, Mo doin' a happier happy Mo post op dance every day

Hello! I asked my surgeon this on Tuesday. He told me that it was blockage in my stoma or esophagus. Food (and water) sometimes hang up in both places now even if we chew, chew, chew. He also said this all gets better with time. Just part of the adjustment process! RNY - 03/01/04 (285)258/216/130

I have this problem 99+% of the time. It hurts like all get out and the condition usually ends in me and then there's this huge belch. Lots of belching going on, no teeny burps for me. I don't know why this happens but it's causing me to not be able to hold food/water down which is impacting my protein and fluid levels. I am miserable and almost constantly uncomfortable! I would say try taking smaller bites. I had this in the start when i would eat but then i tried the smaller and it worked. LaRhonda
