Slow board about to get slower?

Well, I hate to contribute to the slowing of a board almost already at a standstill, but I'm needing to pull away from my boards in general for a little while. I might try to keep up with the smaller boards that only get a few posts a week, but historically this one has been busy (Just not lately!) and I seem to spend most of my time here. I've been trying to pull away over the last week or so and really need to push my efforts toward things around the house, which I'm not getting done. I need to drag my butt up off the chair and give my laptop a rest for awhile. Don't know if I'll be successful, but I'm going to give it a shot. I did take on volunteering to create profiles (why do I do these things to myself?) so that's taking up more time I shouldn't be taking up - but I NEED a creative outlet, so I see this as the lesser of evils. And sometime in the next week or two we will be taking a little jaunt over to the coast and I'm leaving all computers at home! No laptop to distract me at all (yes, It is a compulsion that I have to try to rein in!). Anyway, I didn't want you all to think I abandoned the board. I'll likely at least read the highlights every day even if I don't stop to post. I just need to reduce my dependence here. I have a man who lives here in this house with me and I have a sneaking suspicion that he's my husband. I think I should maybe talk to him and find out..... Dina

You are so funny! You will be missed. I know. I do the same thing. My son asked me did it help me reading these post because I do it all the time. Of course the answer is yes. But I've neglected things like my bible study to do so. I too have to reorganize so majority of my time isn't spent here. Take care of yourself. As a fellow board addict, I won't even say I'll miss you---you'll be here! Try this: Set a kitchen timer for 15 min. Do a household task. Set it for 15 min. and reward yourself at the puter. You will amaze yourself what you get done! (Yes, I need to follow my own advice more!) A great site to help get control of house is www.flylady.net She is the only one who has ever been able to motivate me and give me a positive attitude about housework. The timer is her idea. Thanks everyone - and Joy - FLYLADY IS THE DEVIL! I tried Flylady once and BOY I never felt so inadequate in my life! I work full time and it just served to make me more anxious because I didn't have the energy to shine my sink when it was full of dishes at the end of the day! Ugh. Seriously though - I do find Flylady too overwhelming for me as I'm not able to focus on just one thing. I see this huge list of things to do and I need it broken down even more. (That is because of my Adult ADD, but even meds don't get me there..) I will be here checking every day but a LOT less than normal. I need to take time away to wean myself off. It's pretty addictive! Oops! Oh well, I tried! I can do the baby steps from flylady. I just keep falling off the housecleaning wagon! This week is crash cleaning for me. My brother and his new wife are coming in from Phoenix this coming weekend. I'll think of you while I am shovelling out my clutter! Joy
