Knee Surgery Wednesday
I saw my Ortho Doc this afternoon, and now I'm having my knee scoped on Wednesday, he's going clean it out, and have a good look around.
Unfortunately this is only a preamble to having to have a total knee replacement within a very, very short time, we're talking weeks not months.
I'm only 44 and most knee replacements only last an average of 10 years, and with current technology you can only have 2 replacements. My Doc is hoping to get me qualified with my insurance for a titanium knee (I had WLS to help me qualify) because they are supposed to last longer, as much as 15 years. But I wanted to lose at least another 30 - 40 pounds prior to having it done. It will be easier on me and DH if I'm smaller and easier for him to assist.
Oh...and it's wonderful to be a statistic...I'm the youngest double total knee replacement my Doc has every done!!! The other one is up next.

Oh boy Va - what a rough road.
I have a supervisor at work who has had the same knee operated on a couple times in the last 12 years I've known her. Her problem was caused by an auto accident though.
We all know you are jumping off buildings and joining the Fear Factor crew. Ya gotta give up the stunt lady thing, I'm telling ya!
Seriously though - I hope this surgery goes very well for you and I hope you get the titanium. And the best part about this is when you do lose all the weight you will give those new knees even more mileage.
