I used to always be sweaty hot and very uncomfortable...I'm not sure if it's the weather or what but I'm not feeling as hot anymore I'm 28ys but I always had hot flashes and was told that I was pre-menopause....So I was just learning to deal with the heat...I don't find my self fanning my face anymore...What does this have to do with the surgery? or is this just a coincidence..and I just want it to be my body changing? Actually, I've seen this subject a LOT lately. In fact, I have also experienced this recently. One day I got the chills and had to bundle up to keep warm. I wasn't running a fever or feeling ill...just cold! I have a theory and that is that our hormones are changing. Insulin is a hormone, and if you weren't diabetic prior to the surgery, there was a good chance you were flirting with it or even just pushing the pancreas to the max. By doing so it throws off our estrogen and progesterone balances, and that is why many women find they have irregular cycles. When you take away the food, you take away the drastic reactions of insulin and thus keep the other hormones from over-compensating. We then return to somewhat normal - and may in fact swing the other way in the process. This is my theory at least. I remember there used to be a time when I was younger that my brother contended that I would ask for a heater in hell. I was always cold...my hands, my feet...everything. In the last 5-10 years I have been overly hot and very miserable especially at work, while all the other women were freezing. I noticed that myself and the men were always hot. I have PCOS which is an endocrine problem caused by insulin resistance, and thus typically have higher levels of testosterone in my system than many women. Testosterone heats you up, so I figured that was it. It all ties together. I guess we should all be investing in sweaters and warm socks, huh? Dina

You have lost pounds of insulation! Your body has been conditioned to cool accordingly--now the insulation is reduced. This will get more pronounced as you lose more. We'd all better get heavy coats for next winter!! (Wonder what size???) Joy -32 lbs

I have heard it is because we are not eating enough calories so our body doesnt produce the extra heat. Im not sure what is the real reason but I love it. LaDonna -40
