Anybody else have complications with open RNY?

i had surgery on march 23. came home on sat. went back on sun and stayed for 2 weeks. I had panratites, pneumia and now I am being treated for blood clots.

Sharon , I had my surgery 1 day after you, I am from Northern VA and had Dr. ANez at Fair Oaks hopsital. I am jsut curious if you were there as well. I was in room 302. Luckily for me I have not had any complications at all, hopefully everything willget better for you.

Hi Charles- My surgery was with Dr.Roll. I was in room 306 during the time that you were there. I came home sat.march 27 and my boyfriend had to take me back to the er sunday where I was admitted for almost 2 weeks.I am feeling better. I get the drain taken out tommorow. I was very close to dying. I was very sick and I even required 2 units of blood due my red blood cells were down.I had fever as high as 104. I came home from the hospital last friday.So far no problems.I have had trouble sleeping though. I hope to go back to work very soon.

I had lap but had very similar problems!!! Pancreintitis, plural fusion, pnomonia, and a distended remnent stomach. 2-3 days turned into a 2 week hospital stay for me also!!! :o( But hey everyday seems to be getting slightly better.
