Well I'm a month and a day out and I am FINALLY back to work! I had a horrible exp! It's such a long story.... but my 2-3 day stay turned into a total of 2 weeks! (Details in my profile if your intrested!) and I had complication after complication.... Distended remnent sack, plural fusion, pnomonia, and pancreintitis! Ya know I was really sure that I would be fine and this would be a breeze because I had no health problems and I've been eating healthy and exercising for a good 6-8 monthes b4 all this. Well for the good news!! I'm down 33lbs in a month!!!

Alicia - what a HORRID experience you had! I cannot believe you had to wait for pain meds....what is going on nowdays anyway? What happened to the big push for patient comfort? I thought there was a new law covering that...or am I dreaming? I hope you are completely better now and hope you are ready to get back to a normal life! Glad to hear from you! Dina

Dear Alicia: I am so sorry for the horrible care you found in the hospital. I too had a bad experience but it was only for 2 days.I wouldn't go to a hospital again w/o a private nurse or aide next to me the entire time. I wouldn't care what it cost or how I had to get the $$$. I'd get it. Waiting and waiting for help when you are ill and incapacitated is horrible. I'm glad that you're now on the road to recovery. Congrats on your weight loss. Louise-21

Alicia, What a nightmare! I am so sorry that you had such a horrible experience. This hospital and it's employees were negligent in your care. From the very beginning when the first nurse gave your jello and juice with sugar in it. And the major issue is not ensuring that your pain was controlled. I was in a hospital that had a bariatric unit. The only type of patients on that unit were patients that were having gastric bypass. The nurses and staff were extremely educated and educated me in what I needed to do to get better. Hope that your recovery is smooth sailing now. Good luck in your journey.

OMG - what a time you have had. I am so glad you are now feeling better and all of that is behind you. That is such a major case of ineptitude if I ever heard one. Makes me wonder if anyone ever gets better in that place. Well, it's all now behind you and you can concentrate on the positive stuff ahead. Congrats on the loss and keep up the good work!! mgm
