Hello everyone I was just thinking Where have all the Marchers Gone? I know we are all busy in our day to day lives and trying to heal from our surgeries and plannig out our food for the day , housework, shopping and so on, but we should all at least make an attempt to come back and post how we are doing now that our surgeries are over. We all took the time to be supportive of oneanother right till the last minute of our W.L.S. and now it seems a lot of the Marchers are gone off the board for one reason or another... It would be great to hear from you all even if it's just one line that says I am fine and I am doing well! I miss you all! God Bless All the Marchers! Hugz Mary

I am lurking about. I post mainly on the over 50 board now, but am 4 weeks post-op tomorrow and have lost approximately 21 pounds...it fluctuates a pound up and down some days...haven't had my official month weigh in yet. No problems whatsoever.....my energy is almost 100% returned, back to work full time, eating a soft diet still....chicken, turkey, fish, veggies mostly and 1 protein drink in the morning. I probably need to work on getting in more water and walking more.... Thanks for asking about us MIAs. Sally

Hi Sally - read your response to "where have all the Marchers gone" and you mentioned an over 50's board. Didn't know there was such a thing. How do you get to it? Gail

Here I am! I have been going through the hell of trying to figure out what I'm doing. I have been battling the want to eat and the need to eat. I have also been really tired yesterday and today. Don't know what's up with that unless it's just the healing process further out. Otherwise the roller coaster is still going up and down for me. I am down about 22.5 pounds which is a good thing. I only see 300# on the scale after the entire day when I'm getting ready for bed. I wake up and most often smile at the scale which is something I haven't done in a very long time! I returned to work today. I spent a lot of time away from the computer last week because for the first time in *years*, I had energy!!! So while I wasn't lifting, I did fold laundry, ran the washer and dishwasher, and went grocery shopping. Jay and I were also in charge of the Easter Egg Hunt after church yesterday, so I was busy preparing for that. I have progressed myself to eating tuna, canned chicken, and even ate a few shrimp and a deviled egg at my in-law's yesterday at dinner time. Oh, and I had a piece of grilled whitefish for dinner Satursday evening. Junior has tolerated it all -- no problems whatsoever! Other than that, I'm still on my full liquids and CIB. I don't see my surgeon until May 3rd, but according to my home scale as of this morning, I am down 15 pounds!!! Yea for me!!! It feels so good to have energy and not be so exhausted all the time!!! HI, I am 10 days post op. I am feeling better every day. It sure was hard making Easter dinner for my family and watching them eat while I ate mashed potatoes & baby food chicken. It was really hard to pass up the sweets but I did it and feel better for it. I have my first check up on Thur. I have not gotten on a scale since surgery. Lynn

Im still lurking. Mostly checking to see if Rob is okay. Its really hard for me to read and post with you all because I backed out of surgery. Im happy that you all are doing well but in the back of my mind Im jealous. Its not healthy to feel that way so I add my .02 whenever I feel like it if the subject calls to me.

Hi Mary - I am a lurker now too, when I am able to get online. I have been checking to see how Rob has been - I am very worried about him! I am almost 2 weeks postop and feeling great! I have been exercising on the stationary bike and walking as much as possible. I am also able to eat: Ground beef, ham, mashed potatoes, eggs, egg salad, green beans, mac-n-cheese, and sugar free popsicles. I am having problems being able to handle the protein shakes, I can't stand the taste of most of them! It is still a trial and error for me!!! I have lost about 15 lbs, but I don't have an official weigh in until Thursday!!! I can't wait. My incision is healing very well also. I did not have staples or stitches - just glue. So, my scar won't be as big! Teri H

Hello All, I, too, am guilty of lurking. I read most of all the posts and check on Rob everyday. I am post op 3 weeks and have lost over 15 lbs. I have been eating solids for two weeks and tend to throw up on some foods (salads, ham) I eat slowly and chew well but I get discouraged when I hurl! I now own a scale (never owned one my whole adult life) and I weigh everyday (which is a no-no, for me, anyway). My clothes are loose, my face looks thinner and I thank God everyday that I am on the road to be healthy and will be around a much longer time for my family! I hope you all are doing just as well and better....I still am on the board, just not posting as much..................Melissa**ultimate giggler
