I take two tums in the am and two in the pm for the calcium. Do you think that would help??? Also my Dr gives us a prescription for prevacid. We have to take it for 6 months. I have not had any problem with heartburn since surgery. Good luck to you. LaDonna -40

I don't get heartburn, but I do get stomach aches and I take Prevacid chewables when I get this feeling, it seems to help...maybe you could give it a try. Also as far as the tums, thats carbonate, which we don't absorb, so for calcium get the citrate. Good luck, Wendy

Donna - I'd suggest talking to your doctor about it. My doc puts everyone on prilosec or something simialr for the 1st couple months. This helps not only the heartburn, but stops ulcers from starting, helps with appetite and keeps the nausea down. Good luck. Gail

You should check with your doc. Mine gives all his patients Nexium, but has also said that Prilosec OTC would be acceptable as well. mgm
