I never in my life had been one to throw up easily. When I was pregnant with my kids, I threw up a lot from morning sickness, but since surgery all I have to do is bend over the throne and out it comes. Sorry to be so gross, but it's like there's nothing keeping the food in anymore. Has anyone else discovered this??

Not me - I haven't been nauseas or thrown up at all. So far I can eat just about everything - just very small portions - I wonder if I really had surgery? Louise

Hi Louise, I had the same thing happen to me the other day, I swiped a piece of turkey off the end of the baby's sandwich and before I knew what I did I swollowed it, Talk about bad habits ha! well about 10 minutes later I had a feeling like something was caught in the back of my throut wouldnt go down and water made it worse and I then bent over the garbage can and up it came and I felt so much better...so your not alone on this...hugz Mary It will get better! Keep the faith!

Louise: I, too, wonder sometimes if I really had the surgery! But then, I take a large swallow of plain water and my chest says, "HEY! DON'T DO THAT!!

I have been throwing up alot too. When that happens to me, i avoid real food a few days. I stick to chicken broth and sugar free popcicles. That gives me tummy a chance to calm down and i drink lots of water water water!!! FInd the foods that agree with ya and stick with them. Our smaller tummys are still adjusting to life and sooner or later they will learn to keep the food down. Good Luck!!

I have found if I accidentally eat over my limit, I can throw up just the excess. I dont like this way of keeping to my limit, but at least its not like before where I would get violent heaves! -Sherrie

My claim to fame was that I haven't thrown up since Jr. High. I never even got sick w/ any of my pregnancies. HOWEVER, that changed post op! So far I've gotten sick twice - both times I was STARVING and apparantely ate too fast. Once was at a Chinese food restaurant and the second time was (of all places) at Sam's Wholesale Club. My hubby and I went yesterday and I ate all the samples too fast and didn't chew well (don't know what I was thinking - I obviously can't shop and eat at the same time now!). So - I ended up running through Sam's club to get to the restroom in time. I barely made it, but felt so much better afterwards! The thing I've noticed is that the food tastes the same coming up as it did going down - no bile or stomach acids have a chance to mix with it. Not that I like it, but it could be worse!! Now, wherever I go (if I'm going to be eating) I scope out where the restrooms are in case I need to make a mad dash! -Wendy

I haven't thrown up yet. I've been very afraid to. I dumped for the first time this weekend (we had white grapes and strawberries in the house and I went to town... way too much) and I thought for sure I was going to hurl, but that part of it passed after a few minutes and then I just felt lousy for a while.
