1 month down 24 lbs....
Girl, you are doing awesome! I really wish I had the same results as you. I've been stuck between a loss of 12 and 15 pounds since surgery - don't know WHAT I'm doing wrong. However, I'm in this for the long haul, so I've taken the scale out of the house so I don't get too caught up (and depressed) on the numbers.
You should be really proud and happy with your results! You go girl!!
Happy Easter!

Wendy,
MY sentiments, exactly. We're in it for the long haul and shouldn't be worried as long as we're eating right an losing (rather than gaining). But, what's the BIG question all your friends ask? "How much have you lost?!" I've decided to quit weighing at home and tell 'em I'm just going by my doctor's scales and will report back after my next check-up.
Another thought. We need to remind each other to think in percentages of weight loss, and not numbers of pounds! A 500 pounder will lose more weight than a 300 pounder at first.
Another thought.
I'm 27 days out, and as of this past Wednesday I'd lost 28 pounds. Now, if I could lose a pound a day over the next year . . . . WHOA!

Lyn - percentages are a great idea. My poor hubby took the scale, locked it in the trunk of his car so I can't access it and get all upset if I don't lose. He said he'll let me weigh once a week, but only after my 6 week check up on the 27th. The bad thing is - I'm about to start my period and I can feel myself bloating up like a Thanksgiving Day parade float. I'm really going to try to push the fluids this week so I don't retain so much.
You are so right - the first thing people want to know is "How much have you lost"? Since I have nothing to shout from the rooftops, I politely say that I'm not getting hung up on the scale and that I can tell I'm losing by the way my clothes fit. Also, on my anniversary dates (15th), I'm going to be taking my measurements. Hopefully that will show some loss.
This is a tough road - no one ever said it was going to be easy. We were out and about over the weekend, and we drove by one of our favorite eating spots, and I got all emotional (PMS) because I knew I'd never be able to go to this place and really dive into the food like I once did. I know that was unheathy to begin with, but I feel like I'm in mourning.
Anyway - I'm really glad I have this place to come to. It's my "soft place to fall" as Dr. Phil would say. I'm so glad we are all here for each other.
Thanks for the encouraging words, Lyn.
All of us Marchers are in it for the long haul!! Woo Hoo!

CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!
DOesn't it feel great? I think my first realization of my dropping pounds is that my rings are falling off. ANd today a friend stopped and he made fun of how baggy my pants were on my butt!! He said to go buy new jeans. I laughed and said what every week. I am sticking to these $2 ones from goodwill untill i am in a single digit size!!
Way to go on the weight loss!!! I bet you look smashing!!! Rock on!!!!
