Things are not going the way I had hoped.......
Well I am 3 weeks and 4 days out and have gained 5 pounds as of this past Monday and it is still not off. I had lost 10 pounds in 11 days and then 5 more pounds by 3 weeks out now I have gained 5 pounds so therefore I am at the weight lose that I was at 11 days out. HOW CAN THAT BE????? I am eating, drinking and walking a mile a day. Maybe I am the one it won't work for. I keep reading the post of others and am truly amazed at the progress. You are so very blessed.
Marcy - it could be water weight. Also, keep in mind when your cycle is - that always bloats me before hand. This will work for you. Just take a few deep breaths and try not to be too hard on yourself. If you are doing everything you are supposed to do, the weight will come off. When I feel this way I've found that it helps to do something special for myself that is not related to WLS. It helps me get my mind off everything, even if only for a few moments, and gets me ready to move forward again in a positive mood. Last week I hit this and went and bought myself a book I've been wanting to read. After reading the first few chapters, I decided it was time to get off my butt and get moving. It was just what I needed to get my mind off everything.
Hope this helps!

Hi: Don't get discouraged so soon. You are just in the beginning of your weight loss phase and your body needs to adjust to the surgery and recovery. The same thing happened to my dd. She eventually lost more than 100 pounds in less than a year. Her doc did cut her back to 2 meals per day after the first month.
I am 3 weeks and 1 day post op - I lost 19 pounds in 2 weeks, gained one back, just lost it again (but it's probably not too far away). so it's now down 19.
I think the rapid weight loss is like all the fast weight loss of a new diet in that it is mostly water weight. But then if you stay with the diet the water weight loss becomes fat weight loss but there is no change in the numbers or even an increase - for a little while.
Just hang in there - you are bound to lose.
Remember that we're all different in our recovery and weight loss.

I hear you loud and clear. My scales have not moved for over a week now. I am at 27.5 lbs, but thats counting the 9 I lost the week before surgery. Its hard but I have decided not to weigh again until 2 weeks from now. I have lost 27 inches ....... so that is at least moving. Check your measurements, sometimes those go, and weight doesnt move!!
