Calling all "MARCHERS"!!

Hi Gang; Last week, I got up on my soapbox for a little rant to see what kind of trouble I could stir up. Well, I was really pleased that I stirred up a whole heap of trouble! Reenie's post with her thought- provoking "survey" also seemed to energize the board. The point I'm trying to make here is that I noticed that there seems to be a large number of folks lurking out there, many of whom responded that they use this board as source of information. This is great news! I'm all in favor of lurking, but I wish that more of you would write a post occasionally. The board will go stale without some new blood (or old blood returning to us). Don't get me wrong, I'm as guilty as everyone else on this. I have had long lapses between posts myself. It seemed like late this summer, for example, there was a long period where the board was kept alive only because of Marilyn, Yvette, Pam and very few others. I realize that we're all busy, but I really want to see this community of ours survive and prosper. If you wish only to lurk, please feel free to lurk. I know that some people feel that their writing skills are lacking. Hey gang.....this is a WLS support group, not the "Literary Guild"...what you have to say is important and valuable and we would like to hear from you. My largest fear for this board is that it will fade away the way so many others on OH have. Just look at some of the older surgery date boards to see what I mean. Anyway, I'm going to make a commitment to stay active and I'd like to see everyone else make the same commitment. Look at it this way, no matter how busy you are, if everyone who looks in on this board just wrote ONE (1) Post per month, this board would be incredibly active. Surely we all have time for that!! One of the problems that I have is that once I respond to one post, I feel that I must respond to all of them so as not to insult the other posters. I don't always have the time to respond to everyone's posts, but if I don't, please don't feel slighted I read everything. Sometimes, I don't have much time, or just don't have a proper response to your question or problem (this is especially true of "Female Issues about which, I'm totally clueless). Bottom line here folks: Let's try to get everyone involved to keep the lifeblood of this wonderful community flowing! HOW ABOUT IT MARCHERS? CAN I GET AN AMEN HERE??!!!!!! Mike

Amen, Mike. I'm a prodigal - what a day to pick to come home. This board remains one of the blessings in my life. I was so happy to come back and find you all still here. I don't want to lose our board either. We have always had the best board on OH, period. Jen

As I read some earlier posts, I was thinking I need to post something. At this point I will have to think of somthing to say. But I do agree. We need to keep this site going and keep posting. May sometimes we just need to say "HI"
