I DONT FEEL GOOD
HELLO FAMILY;
1ST LET ME CONGRATULATE ALL OF THE MARCHERS FOR COMPLETING YOUR JOURNEY FOR A NEW LIFE. AS OF 3WEEKS POST OP, I'VE LOST 34 POUNDS. NOW TO THE PROBLEM. FOR THE PAST 10 DAYS, I HAVE FELT REALLY BAD. I FEEL REALLY NAUSEOUS, AS SOON AS I WAKE UP IN THE MORNING. I'M NOT VOMITING, BUT I AM DRY HEAVING.
I WENT IN TO THE DOCTOR AND HE TORE ME A NEW BUTT HOLE, BECAUSE I'M NOT GETTING ENOUGH PROTEIN AND WATER, THE THING IS HOW DO YOU DRINK AND EAT WHEN YOU FEEL LIKE CRAP. IF ANYONE HAS EXPERIENCED THIS, PLEASE GIVE ME SOME FEED BACK ON HOW TO GET THRU THIS. I'VE ALREADY 2ND GUESSED IF THIS WAS THE RIGHT THING TO DO.

Hi regina,
I felt nauseus all the time tooo. I also was not getting enough water or protein. hang in there and drink! try protein ice brand of protein drink...you can hardly taste the protein in it and they come in blue rasberry, grape, fruit punch they are 40 grams of protein and go down very well.. also what helped me is mint ice tea (wwithout any sweetener or artificial swweeteneer) sorry this keeyboard iss terrible. anyway the mint helped with the nausea. best wishes!

THANKS, I'VE BEEN SUCKING ON PEPPERMINTS. I GUESS I SHOULD HAVE TRIED A VARIETY OF PROTEIN DRINKS BEFORE SURGERY, BECAUSE THE ONES I'VE BEEN TRYING ARE YUCKY. I'M NOT A MILK DRINKER AND CANT STAND THE MILK BASED DRINKS, I FOUND SOME THAT WERE JUICE BASED AND THEY'RE TOO SWEET. I'M LIKE "DAMN".
THANKS FOR THE FEEDBACK AND WILL TRY THE TEA.
Regina, how are you feeling? As for protein have you tried adding powdered milk to your milk or soy milk? I personally do not like milk, I drink Vanilla "Silk" soy milk. I take four cups of vanilla silk and add one cup of powdered milk. Let it sit over night, it tastes better. One 8 oz cup is 13 grams of protein. Made with milk it is 14 grams of protein. Good luck and I hope you feel better real soon! I am 2 weeks post op, my surgery was March 25th.
Hi, Regina!
Congrats on your big weight loss! I, too, sometimes experience real difficulty in getting in all my protein. It seems that on some days, I can get in 90-100 grams, but the next day I can only manage 50-60. The one thing that I depend on for most all of my protein-intake is using Unjury Unflavored protein powder (www.unjury.com), mixed with Sugar-Free Tang. I keep a pitcher mixed in the 'fridge at all times, and it has been a real life-saver. I use one container of the SF Tang then add 3 scoops of the unflavored protein powder (20 gr/scoop), and mix vigorously. It settles to the bottom of the pitcher, so you need to shake it up each time you want to have a drink. It makes 6 eight-ounce glasses, yielding approximately 10 grams of protein per glass. You can always add more protein powder, as needed. Good luck and I hope that you're feeling better soon!

Regina - I haven't felt the constant nausea like you so I don't know if my advice will apply, but I know when I don't eat I can start to feel nauseous. I would urge you to find a good protein suppliment that you can tolerate the taste of and bone up on it. It should give you energy and might help with the queasies. I find Protidiet Tropical punch very refreshing. It's gelatin based and has no funky taste to it. It's a wonderful drink and packs 15 grams of protein into a small glass. I have only found it here: http://shop.store.yahoo.com/cntr4weightloss/tropfruitfla.html so far on the internet.
Good luck and keep us posted on how you are doing!
Oh - and I've found vegetarian meats are higher in protein than most of the real meat counterparts. Might try a boca burger or something. They are delicious!

I feel for you and understand. I too have expirenced just what you are talking about. You have gotten some good advise from some other folks. Alls I can say is that it does get better. Just keep at it and keep the faith, this surgery is the magic bullet and there is some pain in change. But you will make it through it all and all will be forgotten.
