Life is good!

I had my RNY lap on 3/11 and am down 25 lbs. I was hoping my weight loss by now would have been more, but it's OK. The weight is coming off, I'm doing all the right things, and it will keep coming off. I'm having a little trouble getting all my protein in, but now that I can eat a bigger variety of foods, it's getting a little easier. I finally got my energy back!!! I've been walking and playing tennis with my 9-yr old daughter. I went through my closet and am getting rid of all my size 24's and some 22's. Today I wore an outfit to work that the last time I wore was in 1999 on my trip to France! I was so happy to get back into my "France" era clothes that today I was practically walking on air! I feel like I don't need my depression meds anymore, but I will continue to take them at least until my next Dr. visit. I went to Penny's Outlet Store and bought a pair of capri's in size 18, and also a pair in size 16, and two really CUTE pairs of sandals. Life is good! I hope that by the time we go to Florida in June I'll be down another 40 lbs. (I can dream) Look, I know there will be bumps in the road, but right now, I couldn't be happier. Karen L

How does that work? I've lost 28 lbs and have only dropped 1 size! I guess the size I was wearing must have been very tight! I bought a dress today and still had to get a size that started with X. I think my top half has lost 2 sizes, but my lower half has not melted as much. Oh well, maybe I will lose there next! Karen, you are doing great! If you don't lose another 40 by June, you should at least lose another 30, and that is still wonderful. None of us lose as fast as we want (that woud be instantaneously to lose ALL of it!!!), but we can be happy about what we have lost instead of worrying about what we haven't lost yet. I like your attitude! Joy -28

I've really only dropped one size. The size 24s I had were hand-me-down's from my Mom. I refused to buy anything size 24, and the hand-me-downs were a bit loose. The size 22's I had were getting increasingly TIGHT. Thank goodness now the 22's are loose and I'm moving into size 20. I wore a pr. of size 22 pants yesterday, and they were quite baggy. Oh happy day. Luckily I have some things in my closet in every size from 24 right on down to 14. I think it always takes longer to lose on the lower half. Why is that? The funny thing is that the shoes I wore yesterday were also too big?!?!? I never thought about losing weight in my feet! I felt like a clown with baggy pants and loose shoes. Keep up the good work Joy. You're only 2 lbs. away from 30 lbs down...won't that feel good? Karen
