My surgeon wants me to get in 80gms of protein a day!!! it is a struggle believe me. Are you doing any sort of exercise? the better you do with your protein and water intake and exercise the better your weight loss will be. ~Nicole 216/175/120 -41

Nicole, I am 57 years old I take care of two grandchildren each and every day I take them to school. I work at the school volunteering each and every day. I walk the long long halls everyday picking up and droping off papers to teachers, I do copying, filing, coloring, bookwork, copy whole books for the teachers. My day begins at 6:00 am my prayer time is tell 6:30 am then I ,empty my dish washer, do laundry, answer my e-mails and then fix my grandchildrens breakfast, then off to school. after school I go for a walk and play with my grandchildren in the yard for two hours then when they go home I do more laundry and then finally I rest is that enough exercise or do I need to do more? My protien is between 40 and 60 I will try to get more of that in. Thank you so much. Sarah T Oh I forgot I get my husbands dinner and do dishes ext.

20 lbs is not trivial. You are doing fine on your loss. But, yes, try to get in as much protein as you can. It will help with the loss and keep you healthy. Joy -28 lbs

I hear ya Sarah - I'm the same way. I've been stuck at -14 and I'm 3 weeks post op - what's up with that?!? I just started exercising this week, so I'm hoping that'll jump start it. Just know that you're not alone! I'm trying not to be a slave to the scale, but I want to lose so badly. I'm still afraid I'll fail at this attempt!! My dietician suggests 40 - 60 (60 being optimum). It's difficult unless you can do protein shakes all day! Luckily (I guess) I like my CIB drink and drink 2 a day. I also get a spoonful of low carb P-nut butter in - it's full of protein and doesn't take much to get it in. Good luck, sweetie!! -Wendy

Sarah, My surgeon recommends 50 grams of protein a day for women. Please don't be discouraged by your weight loss. That's 20 pounds you'll never have to carry around again.....so feel good about that. Just concentrate on getting in the necessities every day and before you know it, the scale will reward your good effort. Hang in there. Joann

Thank you I have decided I am going to try and down at least one protien shake a day mine has 28 protien in one can then I can try and eat some for lunch I don't think my pouch is too big because 3 ounces of protien drink makes me feel full I will wait two hours and drink some more then I can get it all in I guess. Thank you all....

Sarah - I know how you feel. I FINALLY lost and am down 21 lbs in almost 4 weeks now. (Just one day ahead of you though) As for the protein, I'm not sure how big your pouch is, but you can read what I'm eating on my fitday journal and see how I'm getting 60-70 in. Here it is: http://www.fitday.com/WebFit/PublicJournals.html?Owner=Javajabbers. Just don't use today (the 6th) as an example. I had a horrible food-choice day and so far haven't gotten but 30-something grams of protein in so far. Anyway, maybe that will help you make some choices as to what you can have that is helpful in getting that protein in. Dina
