My surgeon saw my numbers were getting low last year and wanted me to start on shots, but my PCP said they were still normal so no shots and my insurance has to go thru my PCP for that stuff or I pay outta pocket. so I kept up with the sublingual and added another and my numbers didn't come up at all this time infact they are down a bit more so NOW I get to have the shots for a few months@@ gee can I just tell everyone I was crazy cause of my B-12??? why is it so hard to get your doctors to agree on a course of action???? I will just add an encouragement for taking vitamins. My kids and I have breakfast together every morning and 1/2 was thru we do the vitamin race, we see who can eat the thing the fastest, who ever wins gets to pick the radio station or book on tape for the ride to school. I REALLY HATE LISTENING to the rap station or my daughters veggie tales cd over and over and over...so I chew it us MUCH faster now!!!!!!!!! LOL TAKE CARE OF YOUR "MILLION DOLLAR BODY! nic

Nic, keep us posted on your blood levels; this is precisely the kind of information we need to share together to stay informed and make good choices about our health. I LOVE that you have breakfast every morning with your kids! The fact that families no longer carve out the time to gather together at the table is a significant contributor to the social ills in our country. Having sadi that, don't teach your kids to rush through their eating! There is strong evidence that supports the theory that people who eat their meals at a slow, casual pace are much less likely to become obese than those who rush through their meals. There, that's my rant for the day! Take care, sweetie. M.

let me re-phrase that! my kids HATE taking vitamins (unless it is the gumball ones and those they ate in 2 days...the little monsters@@) and I use chewable vitamins as well, so we do the vitamin race 1/2 way thru the breakfast; not race to eat breakfast. I read in a magaznie how sitting down to a family breakfast gave one woman more time in the morning...not sure or why but I will be damned we are done with our morning chaos earlier and with less stress so we eat a home cooked meal every morning or if it is payday friday we go to the little bagel shop for a warm bagel and egg salad! LOL did i mention I take both my kids to school with me??? we are together A HUGE chunk of the day so THAT could be why I am crazy (instead of low b-12 numbers)! nic

HI Nic, My pcp also does not want to go to the b-12 shots. Mine is down a little, but, my iron is way down. I was just put on liquid iron to see if that helps verses the capsuls I was taking. So i have upped my b-12 on my own & will take it along with my b-complex everyday for awhile. I think it is great you are spending time with your kids, too!! I don't have any, but agree with Reenie that is the problem with todays world Is nobody or at least most parents don't take the time to do that anymore. I am glad you do!!They will learn from it, in the long run!! LOL Marilyn, the Bearlady
