Hello I am just wondering how everyone is feeling that shared the same surgery day as myself! March 22nd, I go tomorrow and get the staples out and this darn g-tube Thank God, and I was just wondering what you all are eatting now, and how much your eatting, and drinking on a daily basis I know everyone's doctor is different but I am just concerned about how I am going to get in all the fluids and protien as I will be expanding the types of food I will be able to eat as of tomorrow, I am so happy I have made this decision to lose this weight, one of my girls said to me tonight "mom your just melting away" It made me feel so good inside I had to leave the room and cry! I cant say enough about my Richy he has been so wonderful through all of this and always says nice things to me about how beautiful I am and How much he loves me, makes me feel so warm n fuzzy inside, he even goes walking with me everyday. I thank God I have such a wonderful man in my life! Just thought I would share some of the things that are going on right now at home. I prepare the food at home but richy is doing all the cooking because I am finding it is just to stressful right now to be in the kitchen, I am wanting to taste everything, anyone else going through this? well I guess I should go to bed here soon it is 3am and I have to be up early, Hope all is well with everyone of you and I pray to God you are all healing well and I hope all your dreams come true for you in 2004! Stay Healthy everyone! Hugz N Mary

Hi Mary, I'm doing really well. I've been on soft foods since I had my J.P. drain taken out on the 30th. At that time I'd lost 17 lbs. It is a little hard getting all the fluids in but when you count everything like popsicles and jello as fluid it gets better. Also my protien drinks are counted too. I feel pretty good which I believe is due alot to the protien drinks. I am trying different ones to see what I like and how I like them. I eat all kinds of things. Grits, Eggs, canned chicken in cream soup, cheese, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese(just a spoonful), Tuna, egg, and chicken salad. I can have a couple crackers but, no bread yet. I'm eating about 3 ozs of food in at a time. Eating 3 meals a day, most days, with a couple of snacks with some protien in them like pudding with protien added or jello with protien. I am walking as much as my lungs and back will allow me. That seems to be getting better every day. So I think I'm well on my way!!!!!!Yipeeeeeeeeee! Hope you are too. I'd love to hear from all the other 22nd's Take care, Betsy

I doing pretty good. I have not had any problems. I'm doing my walk-away-the-pounds tape every day. I'm still on soft food. I'm eating about 3-4 oz of food. I do have to remember to slow it down. I chew throughly but I think I eat to fast sometimes. I go to the doctor Thursday for my 2 week checkup. By my scale, I have lost 30 lbs.

Greetings all. I am doing well cept for an oozing irritation on my incison. It is a big YUCK I wear a bra, I irritate the wound. I do not do a scale, but my clothes are a little loose. No one has come up to me shocked at huge weight lose. I eat mostly soft food. I havent found a protien drink I can handle and I eat every 3 or 4 hours. My skin and hair look great so I am getting enough protien though more would increase my loss. I do a 2 week check up on Friday..... I will post my actuall loss........ Blessings to all,, Andie
