I Miss Food!

First of all, thanks again for all of the replies regarding protein! Now this: I don't know how many of you are cooking for your family, but I am. I'm to the point where I am mourning for food. I fix these meals for my husband and son, and then all I can have is something like cottage cheese and applesauce (for at least the next four weeks). Don't get me wrong -- it tastes good, but it's not what *they're* eating! I know this has been discussed around these parts before, but I foolishly thought I wouldn't miss food because I want/need to lose this weight so badly. How are you dealing with your grief? TIA, -Marcie

Marcie: I have heard this before from others that have food prepared in their homes. I am lucky, I live alone. But the last couple of days, what I have been eating has not seemed to satisfy. Tonight I had cubed potatoes with cheese that finally did it. I am also craving ice cream. I am thinking about getting some carb countdown ice cream and adding it to my protein drink to maybe satisfy. Is there any way you can stay out of the kitchen?

Marcie, Maybe you can share these feelings with your husband and son. Perhaps they could cook some quicker foods while you are in another room or out for a walk. I eat at my families home often and I just have to face the fact that they are eating differently then me. It kills me though. Today was my toughest day with food thoughts. I just stayed away from the kitchen and I don't allow myself to indulge in food thoughts. It is tough but I just making it one meal at a time. Wendy Ann

Hi This is beginning to be a big problem for me, and I refuse to let it take over everything I am working so hard for!!!!! Thats what My mind says when their all eating dinner and everything is smelling so good! But then my brain flips into I want to just taste it mode, so thats what I have been doing for the last 3 days . My family had steak on the grill tonight and I wanted it so bad so I just took a big bite of steak and chewed it up really good then spit it out! This way I have the taste that I am craving and I have satisfied the craving so I dont feel so bad, then I went for a mile walk again tonight! I look at it this way , if you want something that bad either remove yourself from the room or have a taste, but only a taste! It's not going to hurt as long as you dont swollow it! Best of Luck to you, and your food demons!

Marcie, this is a hard situation to be in but I can assure you that soon it will not phase you. The hardest thing I would do is have to watch my husband and niece eat while I had my apple sauce and stuff. After a week or 2 of this it got so much better. Now it does not phase me. Granted I can eat regular food now...even when they eat burgers and stuff it doesn't bother me. All I can say is it will get better Bethany AKA Da Offishal Riddler and Bertha 35 Days into NewPouch and feeling great! -40 lbs!!!! Yayyyy A riddle a day will keep the Marchers pounds AWAY!
