Changed name

I figured I should probably change my name (this is a nickname given by my mom) so I could maintain a slight bit of privacy. I'm not really concerned about people knowing I had surgery, but after using my profile as a source of venting, I figured it might be best to not make it TOO easy for others to find me! If it is too confusing for some folks, I'll change it back later... Dina aka Dinka Doo (and her li'l pouch too!)

Actually, Dina, a friend of mine from well over 10 years ago recently keyed in my name on her browser and was led to this site! She even emailed me from this site. I was glad to hear from her but not at all happy at how easy it was to find me, and to learn of my surgery. How do you change your name??? Maureen

Maureen- You just go in to update your profile like you would when you add to your journal under General Info, and where it has your name and password, just change your name there. For some reason I thought I needed someone else to do it for me, but I thought "what the hay...I'll give it a shot!" and it worked! Dina

Holy crap! I just did a search for my real name on Google just to see what popped up and WHOA NELLIE! There popping up in front of me are several websites from the netherlands with my name interspersed amongst internet PORN. Makes me wonder if there is a person out there with this name in the Netherlands (it is a rather German name) or if they gleaned it off here!!! Dina...no longer wanting to be associated with Rudesheim...

Well, I just successfully changed my name on the site to "Reenie B" -- however, my real name (Maureen Boyd) is still listed as being in the obesityhelp.com database, so anyone can still find me. What to do, what to do??? Reenie

It will take a while for it not to come up. Thats the reason I changed my name a few months ago. I only changed my last name because everything of mine online was popping up on Google. Boy I hate that Search Engine!!!! Kelley

Okay - think LOGICALLY, Dina. Dina could be a name or a word I've yet been able to translate, and Rudesheim is a large city in Germany. Duh. Still - quite the shock to see my name associated! Yikes!

Well frortunately for me I have an extremely common last name. I just did a search on my name and there are hundreds and hundreds of hits, but the 1st 10 pages are all others, and not me. So if anyone tries to find me by doing a search, they will have to sift through lots of stuff! mgm
