Is feeling better. I had a good day and my Blood Pressure was where it should be. So my girlfriend took me yard selling and tried to talk me into buying a size 12 dress. I just could do not do that one yet. We were out about 2 hours and my stream ran out. But it was nice to get out and I am rested and back on the computer. We even went to Wendy's and I had 1/2 of a baked cheese potatoe and brought the other 1/2 home. My first resturant experience. I am having a problem with my system excepting the protein drinks, Any suggestions? Sugarplum Open RNY 3/16 -24 lbs 2 weeks after surgery

SugarPlum, So glad you are feeling better. Sounds like you had a very active day. The weather here has been the pits for several days, so I haven't been out, except to go for my post op visit to the doctor today. I am excited, have moved on to pureed foods. YIPPIE!!!! had 1/2 a cup of pureed Hormel chili (no beans) for dinner. At least I got flavor, if no texture. Next week I get to stage 1 soft foods, eggs, cottage cheese, etc. You are going to be buying that size 12 dress in no time! Hugs, Mo doin' a happier happy Mo post op dance every day

Glad to hear you are doing better. I too am having protein drink issues. The one that I started with did taste good at first, and did go down well the first week, but now I can't tolerate it. I've tried a few others, and they aren't going to stay with me either. The only thing I've been able to use is the SF Carnation Instant Breakfast wth skim milk and either 1 or 2 scoops of Beneprotein. But even that is starting to give me some problems now. I was in GNC again today, and the guy there suggested yet another one that I will be trying. Until then, I'm trying to get as much protein in with food as I can. Too many small protein meals leads to not enough time to sip sip sip though, so now it's either protein or fluid! Go figure! mgm

Sounds like you had a good day! Good news on the BP.. Soon you'll be passing up size 12 dresses cause they're too big!!! As for the protein problem this seems very common and a lot of trial and error until ya find a good one.. 24LBS in 2 WEEKS???? AWESOME!!!!!!!!

Sounds like a wonderful day! As for the protein drinks, do a google search for Protidiet and get the liquid tropical punch protein drink mix. It is absolutely fantastic and doesn't taste proteiny at all. It's actually very refreshing - gelatin based and wonderful cold! Dina

I am anti protein powder and drinks - but I am sitting here drinking a strawberry kiwi nectar protein drink and its actually delicious! I dont know if I can stomach the full 8 ounces but there is 23 grams of protein in 8 ounces so if I only get in 2/3 of it thats still 15 grams of protein - I can deal with that! -Sherrie

Sherrie-- Who sez you have to drink 8 oz in one sitting? Do the entire 8 ounces over the course of your day, and you'll have 23 g intake...in addition to whatever you eat thru the day! I'm so pro-protein supplements 'cuz I THINK we saw the results of me pumping it pre-op: two weeks post-op, my incisions/scars were totally healed, as the Dr. said "Wow...they look like they've been there for years!". I've NEVER been a 'good healer' 'til this. Besides, there's no way I could get 60-75 g. of protein per day in naturally now. Pre-op, maybe. Now - no way. So the only way I CAN is via supplements. I use a tasteless/odorless whey isolate called "Beneprotein" that I throw in/on everything/anything, and it's great. Glad I found it, but to each their own! Hi Kimmer, I see you talking about beneprotein, where do you find it, and is it a powder that you put on your food? Thanks, Paula
