Hello, I just thought I would let everyone know I'm home. The surgery went fine. I had to stay an extra day because I became dehydrated so they had to pump me up with fluids but I'm doing pretty good now. It's hard to sleep at night, I can't really get comfy. As soon as I got home yesterday, I started to have diarrhea. I don't know why since all I had had that day was broth, decaf tea and water. Can anyone tell me how I can get rid of it?????

Mine went away by itself when I got to start with a bit more solid food. Just keep drinking and don't get dehydrated. I think some people were told they could take imodium, but I would not do that without permission from your doc. Trust me, it is better than constipation! Joy

My surgeon told me that this is the result of having drunk the lovely Fleet's to prepare for surgery. The effects are felt for a while. Just make sure to stay really hydrated with water and call your doctor if you think it's getting really wacky or you have other sumptoms such as pain or fever. Mine did not straighten out for about 3 weeks, or until I was starting to eat something solid again. Gano

I had diarrhea in the hospital, and found out when I got home that it is NOT normal....call your doctors. In my case I had a bad reaction to dairy, and liquid tylenol. Once the culprits were removed, I went through the NORMAL bowel process which is gas first, then soft stools.

Rosemary, My doctor warned me that it would be normal to have diarrhea. Because of the liquids in, it is basically liquids out for a while. If you are concerned, please call your doctor. Good luck and welcome home! Hugs, Mo doin' a happier happy Mo post op dance every day
