First post op dr appointment

Finally the steri strips are gone, and my Dr apparently is famous for thin scars!!! Mine is very very thin, and I am sure within 8 to 10 months will be barely visable. This is such a switch from the HUGE gall bladder scar. I had both surgeries done open, and I figured I would have another big scar from the RNY....... but..... Dr Lanes brilliant slicing and dicing has produced a very thin line!!!!!!!! Yippee.. now, on a different note.. the scales dropped 22 lbs ...... which is good.. and today I had to drop off my paperwork to my nurse at work. Soooooooooo I stepped on that scale to see if they weighed close to the same..... NOT.. lol.. I either lost 5 lbs overnight, ORRRRRR the scales are 5 lbs off!! It sounds soo much better with 27.5 lbs gone, but.. who knows if thats right or not. My daughter spent last night laughin her buns off at my baggy jeans!! Oh yes, and also my Dr told me by the time my DH gets here in JUNE... I should be close to 230 lbs!!!!!!!!! I havent seen that weight in 25 yrs or more!!! I cant believe it.. hahaha.. I wont know myself, let alone him pickin me out in the airporT!!!!! Life is good

My scar is tiny too...very thin and only 3.5 inches long....it was glued together and no staples or stitches. she removed the little strips a week after and yesterday most of the scabs dropped away after I put a little vitamin E oil on it. Hard to believe that a surgeon can do so much in such a little opening!

Wow, Sally! I'm jealous! My incision is like about 10 inches long. I think it'll be real thin though. I too was glued only I didn't have the stri-strips. Itches to beat the band right now but yesterday I was doing dishes and my tummy got wet and some of the scab just fell off. Kinda a weird sensation! Gayle Queen of Yarn Balls
