I got home today yippie! I have been home since like 2:30 or 3. Feeling great. Tons of gas after everything I eat but this is normal right? I have gone to the bathroom a million times...not to be gross.. but I feel fine. I didnt have the bad "2nd" day thing. I have a bad first night kinda though. Now I am just all worried about my wound. Making sure I dont hurt it and wondering how I will ever be able to sleep sitting upright in my bed. But that is al for now. thanks for anyone who prayed for me~ ! kim

There is no place like home! Glad everything is going well for you. Sleeping is a challenge the first week or so, but it gets better! Joy

Kim - I had no gas but I know many people did have lots of it. I assume you had an open rny, and if so, I can say for me, I had a binder that helped me to feel more comfortable laying down and sleeping. I had my surgery on a Wednesday and was back at the hotel Friday night. I just had extra pillows to prop me up higher so I didn't have to pull up so much to get out of bed, and to give my arm leverage in helping me push up. By about 5 days post op I was able to sleep on either side pretty easily and roll over without feeling like I'd pop a staple. I know not every surgeon has their patients wearing a binder, but for me it really helped a lot. It was like being able to hug a pillow the whole time while having my hands free. If you don't have one and would like to try one, call your surgeon and make sure there is no reason why he doesn't want you to have one and see if he has one to give you or you can get one at a drug store (look for one that specializes in medical equipment or try Home Medical). I'm 3 weeks out now and although my surgeon wants me to wear it 4 weeks, I sort of quit wearing it already as I feel like I don't need it. Don't tell him that though! Dina
