Hello I had my surgery on March 15. Still new and confused and doing alot of crying and reading on the board to see how everyone is progressing. I know sooner or later you will start to feeling better but I have not got the whole thing down about the protien. I have tried the whey and I do not like it at all. The natural is awful and the cho. you can only have so much. I am trying to get my protien in. I just started my 3 weeks for pureed foods. Thanks Connie

Connie, Hello fellow March 15er!! Try the EAS AdvanEDGE low carb shakes. Each has 15g of protein. We get them at Wal-Mart. I like the chocolate fudge the best. The berry flavored one is a little strange - it's like a flavored water, not like a "milk"shake, but it tastes pretty good. Also, there's a powdered protein suppliment you can get your pharmacist to order for you. It mixes with anything and is tasteless. It is CASEC powder - about $15 for a large can. Every day gets better! Prayers for YOU, L Y N N

Hi Connie; I agree that the protein thing is very confusing. My angel told me about a place online to order my protein drinks from and that's what I've used. The flavor I like is strawberry milkshake. I mix it with 1/2 a bananna, ice and skim milk to make a milkshake. I love it. They have some other great flavors in the proplete as well. Their website is at: http://store.bariatriceating.com/index.html There's also some great recepie sites out there for protein drinks and smoothies etc. If you'd like, I have some of them book marked and I'll happily send them to you. Also, try the recipie board, those folks have some great ideas. Take care, Cheryl

Hi Virginia! I had LAP RNY on March 17th. I am so glad I found this board. It has been some experience dealing with being post-op. Each day, like life, has it's own challenges. I can't wait until I'm 5 then 10 then 16 weeks post-op and look forward to getting better and better every day. Earitha LAP RNY 3/17/04 291/284.2/140

Wow, thanks for the list. The one thing I noticed was a lack of angels. Mine was such a tremendous help to me. Cheryl
