Food thoughts
Before I had surgery, I read on the message boards how different people were on different stages when it came to eating after surgey. Well when I had my surgery and was ready to go home from the hospital...I panicked!! I had no food plan. I called the doctor and he said I could eat anything I wanted as long as I put in into a blender and pureed it. I was baffeled. I wanted a list of things to eat and things not to eat.
So with that I went home and have played it safe. I have stuck with cottage cheese, refried beans and cheese, cream of wheat, jello, soups, scalloped potatoes....things I could mush and puree. I have also added egg salad, chicken salad, and soups with vegetables, chicken, and potatoes in it.
Now that I have been more for over week, I feel much more comfortable in my food choices.

I am still on liquids, up to creamed soups. My dr said I could do cream of chicken or mushroom, etc, but I had to 'strain' them. So I put them through the blender to make sure there are no solids.
After I see the dr next week, I go on the blenderized stuff. I already have a plan for rotisserie chicken in the blender!
Good luck!
