oozing incision
I have the same thing going on right now in my incision that had the JP drain. It isn't pretty. I was instructed at discharge to pack it with gauze and change it two or three times daily depending on how much is draining. My surgeon also suggested that I put a warm wash cloth on it and a heating pad over it to draw out the stuff. This will hopefully prevent an infection since the incision heals from the inside out. It has seemed to help me, but I still am having some pain. Good luck with yours.

Hi Kerry!
What I have been doing is cleaning the area gently with soap and rinse well, then using neosporin on it and then using my cotton tank top as a bandage to cover. The neo seems to take the burn out of it in about 24 hrs. Also can be done for the drain site (mine likes to be all red and angry!!)
I have not figured out what to do about the itch that comes after except to take a benadryl with dr. permission, but I do know itching means healing, so I try not to bother it too much.
I hope your girls are spoiling you!

I have about an inch of my incision still oozing - I saw the doctor today and she told me to treat it just like a skinned knee - keep it clean and dry and it will heal. I really wanted her to give me a magic wave of her wand and fix it, but darn it all, she didnt.
I guess I will just have to keep wiping it with my gauze and let it heal on its own.
