I just couldn't help myself....
I'm 13 days out and I just couldn't eat another "liquid" thing.....I am sooooo sick of jello, juice, water, soup, popsicles and baby oatmeal I could cry! I made myself eggbeaters to what was equivalent to 1 egg, I got 3 or 4 baby bites down and I finally know what they meant when they said I would be full. AThat was around 6pm, it's 11pm and I still feel stuffed. Have any of you had solids (or semi solids) by 2 weeks? How's it been?

Hi Rachel,
5 days post-op I had about two tablespoons of egg beaters, a tiny sprinkle of shredded lowfat cheese, and about a fourth of a piece of light wheat toast with margarine. It was YUMMY! I didn't have any problems at all digesting it. I haven't thrown up once.
I've been eating solids ever since and I've been doing just fine and losing almost a pound a day still.

Hi Rachel,
Yeah, I know what you mean. I was ready to toss that timer out the window a few times. I mean every 15 mins. I was so sick to death of liquids I was so happy to get some solid down for a change. Believe me it get better. I just passed my 2nd year anniv. and I feel great. Just hang in there. You can do it. You have come this far. Good luck to ya.

The first solid I had was a soft scrambled egg - I emphasize the soft. Even with that, and chewing it till there was nothing left, I was able to finish most of it. There have been a few times that I have had something and felt so full hours later. When that happens, it typically is when I have not chewed well enough or ate too fast, and it's like a ball stuck in my gut. I just slowly sip, and it eventually goes away. Ya gotta chew it alot.
