kelly L 9 days post op lots of questions
Hi guys, well thanks for all your love and support while i was in the hospital. Surgery went great. I had to be on clear liquids for 10 days so finally on sun i start pureed stage. any good ideas for what i can puree? Also, can i have splenda ice cream stating puree stage? Is blening soup anygood? i am so picky! lol
I have been going on a walk a day. i have to go slow but hopefully i iwill get faster each day. my insisions are healing well.(lap) The smell of other people foods still smells and looks good to me? is that normal? i am NOT hungry though. ahhhhh sorry so many questions. xoxo kelly
Each program is different. My Dr. wants us on protein only. So I have eaten eggbeaters, yogurt, soft cheeses, whey protein in sf/ff pudding.
We are allowed to pureed chicken and tuna in light mayo or soup. But we are not supposed to have any vegges, fruits, or carbs.
Talk to your nutritionist to be sure what you shoud be eating. I am suprised you do not have documents outlining your diet post-op.

I agree with Michelle. Each doctor has different post op plans. I didn't know if I could have no sugar added creamsicles ( I knew that the popsicles were ok) so I ASKED my doctor. This board is a wonderful resource and source of support but you should get your answers from your doctor or nutritionist.
I personally think that eating splenda ice cream is buying into old habits. This is a whole new part of our lives and a lifestyle change. That is not to say that I will NEVER have a treat again, but I am not going to be finding ways to justify putting them into my Stage 2 or 3 or 4 foods.
Sorry to be a bit harsh, but you have to think of why you had the surgery and where you want to be.
Hugs,

What her doctor said she can do doesn't matter...what YOUR doctor says you can do DOES matter. You have to consult with YOUR doctor and do what YOUR doctor tells ya, not what everyone elses' tells them.
We pay these guys big bucks for their advice, and we have to remember that stuff like this is WHY we pay them. Your post-op program has been formulated by your doctor with YOU in mind.
If it'd be easier, keep a running list of things to ask as they come to mind (or as they come to your attention), and when you call her, ask your questions one-after-another.
Just a personal observation, but haven't you stated that you're lactose intolerant? Wouldn't that have an effect on eating a creamsicle? I don't know, as I don't "do" creamsicles or ice cream or stuff like that, but I'd think if you're lactose intolerant, it'd be a problem. Again, I'm 'ignorant' to that kind of stuff, but the "cream" in "creamsicle" would set off buzzers and bells to me. But CALL YOUR DOCTOR FOR THESE ANSWERS!!!!
