Just tried something new
Tonight for dinner I tried Veggie Meatballs. I had 3, which ends up being about 10 grams of protein. They tasted really good, and better yet, IDI Bitty liked them too! I heated them in the pasta sauce I was making for my daughter's spaghetti and "real" meatballs. I was actually stuffed after the 3 and didn't have any room for the smidge of mashed potatoes I had on my plate. It helped me to sit and eat with my daughter while she had my favorite (pasta), and not feel jealous or deprived. Sorta felt like I was eatin' Italian right along with her.

You know what is so funny? I have started eating the veggie meats too because they tend to be less fiberous. I had a Boca polish sausage the other day (but it was slightly spicy so I'm saving the next ones for later), bought some breakfast sausage and bacon from Morningstar Farms and have other veggie meats I'm going to try while I'm not able to have real meat.

Hi Wendy,
The brand is "YVES Veggie Cuisine". They were nicely flavored with various spices. No vitaminy taste at all. I also had the pasta sauce on the side to dip them in. I wouldn't say they tasted as good as the real thing, but definitely going to be a staple in my house until IDI Bitty gives the ok to beef! I got them in my local market (Pathmark) in the organic food aisle.
