Well 17 days after surgery and I finally am starting to feel better. Y'all were right I did a lot of saying....."What did I do to myself"...but I think that is starting to fade as I feel better each new day. It was a lot harder then I thought it would be. Not really sure what I was expecting, maybe to have the surgery and wake up and somehow be a whole new person...no pain, no struggle. Well guess what guys IT DON'T WORK THAT WAY...lol Anyway, I am getting better and doing great. I went to have my staples out 10 days post-op and had lost 23.6 pounds. I have started on pureed foods and I can't tell you how good that egg or thoses mashed potatoes taste. I have found that my taste buds are stronger now and a little of something goes a long way. But with ever new day the adventure continues...Thanks for all your wishes and prayers....Lea

I hear you. We did not realize that becoming a new person meant that we would have to get acquainted with ourselves, which takes time. It is odd, and a bit stressful, to be living in a stranger's body in the mean time! Joy

Lea, I'm glad you're feeling better. I am 4 days pre-op. I am SO EXCITED now but do worry about that "what have I done" post-op phase. IT's nice to know that that phase WILL come and GO! Congratulations on your 23.6 pound weight loss!!!
