Excedrine Quick Tabs
I went looking for Sugar free liquid Tylenol again and didn't find Tylenol brand but another (can't remember it right off the top of my head) but it was soooo expensive and children's strength I thought it would be a problem. So just out of fun, I looked at the Excedrine Quick tabs and was shocked to see it was Acetominophen and not Aspirin. It does have caffeine, but I wasn't told I had to go caffeine free, so I'm not.
I bought several boxes of this so I can have it in times of headache without having to worry about dumping. I saw no sugar listed on the inactive ingredients. It looks like it's about the size of a Tums or Rolaids, so I wouldn't think it would be any worse than the sugar free antacids.
I was thrilled to find this out as I was sure Excedrine was aspirin but Woohoo! It's not!
By the way - Kimmer: They do make Children's Advil in a liquid form - we've given it to Mason as an infant. Just a tidbit of trivia there. And for those who have to take Advil or the sort, they might check with their doctors to see if they can have one of those Children's Advil types (liquid or chewable). I can't say for sure, but it might be more "doable" than other things.

Yup, that's why I said I wasn't ~aware~ of it to MY recollection: I am certainly not a source for reference here, and I wanted to make that clear. My family (and friends, for that matter) were so hesitant to give their babies anything at all...my one nephew was "headache-y" from birth, and I remember a family member always having Children's Tylenol chewables for him at hand. But I wasn't aware or sure of any kind of NSAID...
NSAIDs always worked great for me...'til I got gut rot from 'em. Then I had to 'tough it out'. Just MY very own personal experience.

Yanno - I'm really thankful that I didn't have to take a lot of pills. Actually, I should qualify that by saying I don't like to take a lot of them, so many times I would just suffer (having fibromyalgia too, I understand what you are talking about on pain scales). I actually clung to my physical therapist and I have an auto accident to credit for my conversion into realizing how valuable PT was because when I get bad, I just call for a referral and get in asap. Ava, my PT, has done more for me over the years than any amount of Orudis can do (that is the one that works best for me).
I can totally hear you on the problems you've had. It does scare me to a degree to think that I would have to take a med on a regular basis, so I have avoided that...even with diabetic meds - choosing to low-carb instead. I think it was negative reinforcement for me as I had my stomach pumped at 4 years old for eating a bottle and a half of baby aspirin!
To this day I can't stand that fakey orange flavor, either. Blech!
But then, Tylenol can cause problems too. Had a trooper who was out on medical leave for quite some times as just a couple of them started to shut down I believe it was her kidneys. That was a scarey incident for her! Just reinforced what I believe and that is that wherever possible I will find an alternative for pain relief if possible. Now, if I end up with rheumatoid arthritis like my mom, I may have no choice, but for now it remains a good choice!

I was wondering...I know there is a headache medicine called BC Powder. you just pour it in your mouth and sip it down with water. I think it is similar to Tylenol...and might I add not too expensive. Anyways...it is like a crushed version of the pill so it acts a lot quicker. I wonder if that is safe to take.
