All... Melissa "Misty" Reed is in surgery even as I type. Thought y'all might want to send her an "atta girl" or "get well" or "Welcome to Newpouch!" email thru the hospital she's in. Here's the link: http://www.wheelinghospital.com/Information/patientemail.htm I had no idea that MY hospital had this service, and when that little ol' volunteer guy came to my room and handed me a WAD of emails, I almost cried! It really was GOOD medicine for me. Thanx, Marchers! I'll let you all know how Misty's doing when her DH calls me... Kimmer Queen of the Niners, Instigator to All Marchers, High Priestess of Giggles

Thanx for sending her one, Caboose Man! When I started reading those sent to me, I felt an attachment in that cold, sterile room...I knew my buddies were out there thinkin' bout me, 'n it really was about the best medicine I could've had at that point ('specially since it was during the Evil Morphine Nausea Bluez...). No Problem. I just checked my hospital's website and don't see that they offer such a service. That e-mail is a neat thing. By the way, you mentioning morphine as that "Evil" thing just goes to show ya that one man's steak is another man's poison. I WILL BE SOOOOOOO READY FOR THAT PUMP hehehe

Oh, I HEAR ya! I've NEVER had a problem with morphine before this. I used MS tablets for my tension headaches for years, have had it IV for every surgery I've ever had, and had NO idea it would do this to me. I did the typical "morphine nod" thru the first nite, and when the nurses would come in and ask "did you hit your pump?" I'd say "aaaaahhhhh....nnoooooooooooo......maaaaaaaaaaybeeeee I shooooooooould?", and they'd hit it for me. I had no intention on "going light" with it, it just worked out that way. I do NOT wear pain as a badge of honor, I fully believe that God created analgesics for a REASON! But when the phenergan IMs they gave me STILL didn't get rid of the nausea, they knew it was the morphine. When my surgeon came in, he stood there with hands on hips "BELLY LAUGHING", saying "You'd make a lousy drug addict...". When they d/c'ed it, they took the "bump" bag of morphine off the main IV and just THREW the entire ~80% FULL bag in my trash can, and I distinctly remember thinking "Maybe I should go get that and put it in my suitcase...I mean, I paid for it...", then thinking "...but how exactly would I USE it?!?" and nixing the idea. Man, I'd never had a bad time with it before, and it broke my HEART to see it just laying in the bottom of that can!! Go figure...I'd've NEVER guessed it'd've hit me like that for anything!
