Well, actually, my precious Angel referred to Beneprotein as a "shake", but it's not: Beneprotein is a tasteless/odorless whey isolate protein powder that I put in EVERYTHING...but it's not a shake. She's RIGHT ON that I'll SWEAR by it, tho...I'm having ABSOLUTELY no problems getting my 60-75 g of protein in with it daily, and I'm still only on "runny stuff". I throw a scoop of it in my smooshed 'taters, cream of wheat, soup...everything...and ya don't even KNOW it's in there. I've been having to 'pump protein' since August when I had my 1st consultation with my 1st surgeon (dumped him, went to my REAL surgeon, but he had me stick to the same regime). I had to add major protein amounts to my diet PRE-OP in order to maintain my muscle tone (I have my dad's musculature, and both surgeons wanted me to KEEP it in good shape: nice to know that under this fat I've actually got some redeeming qualities! ). I also think the pre-op protein push has TOTALLY enhanced my healing process: ALL of my incisions are TOTALLY HEALED...no keloid, no stretching, no scabs...they look like they're several years old already! WAY COOL!! The WONDERFUL protein "shake" I'd been using (and am now incorportating back into my diet) is MetRx Protein Plus Vanilla Buttercream Shake. It's a little less sweet than a REAL vanilla milkshake. Ya open the canister, peel off the protective seal, and the smell of buttercream frosting wafts in the air. It's WONDERFUL stuff! I couldn't use it immediately post-op 'cuz there's a thickening agent to it, and I was on clear fluids 'til last weekend. But I'm now using it in small quantities (and it fills me up), and am thrilled that it tastes the same post-op as it did pre-op (was a tad worried 'cuz of how our tastes will change...nope, it's a go!). You can get MetRx at most drugstores, grocery stores, and places like Walmart - it's pretty common. I think GNC has it, too. It's in a white plastic canister with a red lid: it also comes in chocolate and strawberry, but I'm hooked on the vanilla buttercream, and as soon as I can eat stuff with "seeds" (i.e. strawberries, black raspberries...can't have 'em now for fear they'll lodge in the staple line of my pouch), I'm gonna throw some nice juicy fruit into it and have me a FLAVORED shake, too. I HIGHLY recommend BOTH Beneprotein and MetRx Protein Plus. Kimmer Queen of the Niners, Instigator to All Marchers, High Priestess of Giggles

I love ISS Whey powder and even though I am lactose intolerant right now with skim milk, I have mixed it in my silk soy milk and it is just as yummy and no diarrhea! So I am happy to say I can keep taking it...

I make my own shake. I use Jay Robb vanilla egg white protein powder, soy milk and some strawberries and blueberries. Blend until smooth, and I add some sweet n low. It tastes a MILLION times better with the sweetener than without. If you use frozen fruit its slushy, without it would be just a shake. Oh, the egg white protein has 24G protein per serving.

Do you use soy milk for an intolerance or health? sounds good I may look for that...where do you find egg white protein powder?
