I have been SOOOOOO hungry for seafood. Shrimp, lobster, scallops, grilled tuna, oooh and steak, and sausages! I guess I'm really hungry for meats! (and ice cream-I know, bad, bad, bad, bad me!)

Well, actually I had a little lettuce 6 days post op and it went down fine! I will wait just a little while longer though but I really did enjoy it also. Looking forward to having a salad again soon, but I think the thing I want the most is to be able to have a little sandwich with low-carb bread. I am not supposed to have bread for a month, so I'm definitely waiting on that. I only suspect it's because the bread is most likely to get stuck? Anyone know for sure? Hi Dina, My guess would be that it's only because bread is really filling and they just want to optimize the first few weeks for you to make sure you get in all the protein you can. I advanced to solid foods pretty quickly. Last weekend I got to nibble on a taco salad and it was divine! I'm just amazed at the fact that I can't even begin to finish anything. It's almost frustrating. It's like I used to take some kind of sick pleasure in being able to eat all I wanted and really clean my plate (and more!) I'm not having trouble keeping anything down, luckily. My only real problem is that I'm forgetting to eat very slowly. After only a minute I'm filled up and I feel the pressure in my chest (the new stomach). Fullness really sneaks up on you and I hate that tight pressure in my chest when it does! -Eve 270/250/231/140 highest/starting/current/goal Three weeks post-op today!

Yea me too, Eve...if I eat too fast, Sweet P plumps up like a little lump and I have to wait and sit in the recliner and let her empty out. I have to eat slowly. But I am full with 2-3 ounces. I just noticed your weight loss....almost 40 lbs in 3 weeks....fantastic!

Hi Sally, I WISH the weight loss was that much! Actually my highest weight (270) was back in 1998. I started out at 250 on the day of surgery and I'm now at 231, so I'm down 19 pounds. I held at 15 for almost two weeks! I'm glad things are moving again. I do agree with Rob though - I'm going to try to lay off the scale as much as possible and just accept that the process is working and that it will take time. Thanks for writing! -Eve What's stranger to think about is that in 2002 I dieted my way down to 165! Putting THAT much weight back on in such a short amount of time is wholly depressing. I'm just rejoicing that once the pounds are gone this time, they're never coming back!

I would love to have some eggs......I am still on broth, jello and popsicles I am getting kind of tired of them too. I go back to the Doctor on Friday and hopefully can have some other things.
