Anyone else have a numb belly? My lower part of my belly is so numb. I can pinch it, squeeze it poke it and etc and not feel it? Is this normal? Kelley

What may be normal for one is not for the another so please call your Dr. Can't hurt to ask!!! Sinseerlee, Kathy Offishal Marchers Cheerleader Captain Flatulence Monitor Angel to the Queen "It's time to throw down the pom poms and get into the game!"

I had a c-section last February and the feeling around the incision spot has yet to come back. I think this usually happens when the nerves are cut into. Sometimes they regenerate back, sometimes they don't. I haven't experienced any numbness w/ my VBG incision, but it wouldn't surprise me if I did. Hope this helps a little. -W-

Same thing on the c-section for me....I was numb for quite a while. I don't have any problems right now though but it does sound like they hit a nerve on you there. I was lucky and didn't get any nerves affected so nothing is numb right now on me. Just curious, did you have a lot of pain right after surgery? Dina

Yes, I was in A LOT of pain. I was on the morphine as well as demoral (SP?) Also where the numbness is I was feeling a burning sensation under the skin....The surgeon said It was from my muscle, but I don't know about that. It was an awful, hurting burning pain. I still get it here and there.... Kelley

My belly has been numb since I had my tubes re-attached in 1993. I was cut open all the way across for that surgery. Nerves get cut and you lose some feeling there...that's what it was in my case. Karen L

Mine is numb down to my navel under the incision, and about 1 inch on each side. Judging from my gall bladder open surgery, it probably won't come back much either. No big deal. If you get a mosquito bite there, it won't itch! Joy

Hey, stop pinching yourself! It hurts me just to hear it, even if you can't feel it. Quick call to doc to confirm what everyone else says? Gano

Kelley, Hunney!! Quit with the pinching, poking and squeezing. If you keep that up, I'm comin' over to put you in soft restraints. Jose may like that, but YOU won't!! Call your Doc, toots. That's why we pay 'em the big bucks! (I have NO feeling at all on the top of my left foot/ankle to about mid-calf: 3 orthopaedic surgeries in 1983, '84, and '85 did it in, including adhesions, a Morton's neuroma and various assorted oddities. But that was an extreme...hopefully yours is temporary.) Hang in there...and quit playing with your tummy!! Kimmer Queen of the Niners, Instigator to All Marchers, High Priestess of Giggles
